Mitrovic is a fucking loon.

I like him.

Re: Lacazette
Eerie, I was commenting on how he took his goals which was in the style of Lukaku, not how they are a similar build or not

Yes, the question was asked who would you take from Newcastle if they went down, I said Mitrovic, he's a decent striker and he's passionate, I like that in a player, of course there are better strikers to be had but he's the one I'd take from Newcastle

Re: Lacazette
Stoke spent heavily on Shaqiri and Krckic at the beginning of this season. On Saturday Hughes had them sat on the bench. I think that big buys need to be brought into the squad carefully and not in groups because of the disruption it causes. We probably have not seen the best of the squad we've got now so it needs augmenting rather than upgrading.

I don't give a fuck what Alex V thinks about big transfer fees it's Bilic I'll go by for what he deems will give him the squad he needs and if he's ok with the owners spending big then I am.

It would be fucking great is what it'd be. I reckon he'd score for fun for us, and Dimi will know how to tee him up.

Re: Lacazette
It wouldn't bother me if we signed Batshuayi and they got Lacazette. We can't have both and neither can they.

A Payet/Batshuayi reunion (no Payet pun intended) sounds alright to me.

I have to say, a fit and firing Carroll is good to have here too. He just pulls defenders all over the place, plus I'd love to get Defoe back. What a bevvy of forwards that would be with a European campaign to go for (hopefully!)

Re: Lacazette
If we have the ear of Batshuayi's advisors I'd be showing them pictures of MK Dons ground and Harry Kane and tell him this is the ground you will be sitting on the bench at and this the bloke you will be watching.
Or you can play at the Olympic stadium for a team where the number 1 striker role isn't 100% nailed down.

Effectively, Spurs and ourselves are rumoured to be in for Lacazette and Batshuayi, who's done OK in the worst Marseille side for perhaps 30 years.

Like it as not, Spurs have a better chance with Lacazette, they are perceived in France to be bigger than us and they can offer CL, which he's been adamant about in his interviews. While I think we've got virtually no chance, I'm not convinced at all that he'd want to go to Spurs or should. Lloris, who's still a legend at Lyon and captain of the French national side, may make a difference.

However, there have also been stories in the press about Payet putting in a good word for us with Batshuayi. I just think that our dealings with the McKays (who have been behind a number of transfers to the PL from Marseille, whether or not they're the agents of the players concerned...) and OM for the Payet deal could stand us in good stead in terms of the relationships we already have in place.

Isn't Ben Arfa like 30 or something?

Moukandjo is very much flavour of the month having scored 12 goals this season. However, 5 of those were penalties and he's 27. Good season but not the standard we need.

Likewise Braithewaite, not a bad player and difficult to judge at a club like Toulouse but f he was anything exceptional, we'd have seen it over the past 3 seasons there.

Jordan Ayew and Ben Arfa I would exclude for the simple reason that they share a long and convincing history of behaving like UTTER LITTLE CUNTS.

Ayew junior rates himself well beyond his true ability and is an arse. Ben Arfa has exceptional ability, but there's one problem: he's probably the stupidest person I've ever seen interviewed on TV. Even by football's standards, he truly is exceptionally FIK. The French media have taken the piss so badly out of the boy for this, I was surprised he hasn't topped himself . But then I realised he was probably too FIK to understand. Can't see how he can ever be anything other than a mindless if exceptional dribbler/scorer of occasional exceptional goals.

I still think Batshuayi is where it's at and is a genuine possibility, even if it is going to be competitive and challenging. I just think DS might pull this one off.

Re: Lacazette
Apparently we and Spurs are after him and/or the Batshuayi bloke. They can obviously offer CL football. However they won't sign both and I'll be happy with either, either one would be an immense signing!

Re: Lacazette
I'm going to continue to argue against 'expensive' signings which basically amount to roulette spins, because I think it's poor strategy for a club looking to improve over the long-term.

The trouble is it's hard to know what 'expensive' is in the current climate. I have absolutely no idea what talented players are worth when you have the whole premier league and the rest sniffing around with purchasing power.

I think French ligue 'diamonds' are where we could be looking. Wouldn't be surprised if we signed one of the following:

Benjamin Moukandjo
Martin Braithewaite
Jordan Ayew
Hatem Ben Arfa

Re: Lacazette
Obviously I'd be happy with someone of Lacazette's quality ( dont think theres a cats chance we'd get him) but I am rather excited to see what lower league gems he will unearth.

He's pulled two blinders out of the bag with Antonio and Byram and would love to see Bilic go on a raid of some lower league sides and get a hat full of rough diamonds..

Re: Lacazette
Depending on which language of newspaper you read he's going to West Ham, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton, Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Roma and staying in France with PSG. Let's just see if the Daily Mail have it spot on about us because he looks like he's also going to 4/5 countries.

The reason you were laughed at last season was because we didn't have the money, which was pretty apparent from the start for most but you...and proved correct when we ended up with Jelavic.

And let's not forget his club said he wasn't going, then he said himself he wasn't going, and then signed a new deal. Probably a few blatantly obvious reasons why nobody took you seriously when you mentioned it.

Not taking anything away though.....this was a cracking attempt at self congratulating yourself, Boots.

Probably up there with Fordstar's Mandzukic spot for West Ham just before joining Bayern.

Cough, how on earth have you watched clips of him, and seen him as similar to Lakaku? Lukaku is 6'3 big and powerful, Lacazette is 5'9 and is more about pace and trickery. Odd comparison.

Mind you, you want us to sign Mitrovic, who has just been dropped from the Newcastle side.
